Rules Overview

Violation of any of the rules may be grounds for having your ticket revoked.

  • Admission: Valid photo ID is required at the gate. All persons under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Cars: Please obey all signs. Drive slowly and stay alert. Don't park outside the festival. Your car should stay parked for the duration.
  • Prohibited: Glass, private campfires, fireworks, explosives, charcoal grills, pets, and weapons of any kind.
  • No Pets: Sorry, your furry, feathered, or scaled friends won't find Dreamtime a safe or comfortable temporary home.
  • Leave No Trace: Pack out everything you bring in, including cigarette butts, gum wrappers, pistachio shells, apple cores..... everything.
  • Fire: Any use of open flame must be registered and pre-approved and must follow all the requirements outlined below.
  • Toilets: If it isn't from your body, don’t put it in the potty! Trash in the toilets will prevent us from pumping them, cost money and threaten the viability of the event.
  • Alcohol: Please consider staying clear and sober for the event. While alcohol is not prohibited, we ask participants to only drink in their camp and not to bring alcohol into the communal space. Drunken behavior and underage drinking are not permitted. Please drink responsibly. You will not be allowed to enter without a photo ID. Excessive quantities of alcohol will be refused at the gate. Glass is prohibited.
  • Noise and Generators: Noise levels need to stay at a level that will not disturb your neighbors. Noise restrictions for generators and music will be enforced. If you wish to bring a sound system, please register ahead of time as a theme camp, so that we can place your camp in a manner that will not interfere with other music or activities.
  • Local Laws: Dreamtime is under the jurisdiction of county, state, and federal laws. You should comport yourself, with regard to these laws, as you would in any municipality.

Prohibited/Leave It At Home

Glass, private campfires, fireworks, explosives, charcoal grills, pets and weapons of any kind and ammunition.

Leave No Trace = Leave No Trace That You Were Ever There

  • Do not bring anything that will break up and/or blow away in the wind (confetti, glitter, feather boas, loose paper, etc.)
  • During the event, please pick up any matter out of place (MOOP) as soon as you see it.
  • Pack out everything you bring (including nut shells, apple cores, toilet paper, etc)
  • Deep clean your entire campsite and surrounding areas before you leave.
  • Fill in any holes you made before you leave the event.
  • There will be no public garbage or recycling services at the event.

Fire

  • (Subject to County/State fire ban) If the State and/or County issues a fire ban, we will work on getting a variance for the festival, but can not guarantee that we will be able to burn anything.
  • The county and the state consider violation of a fire ban to be a serious criminal offense.
  • If you violate the ban, you may face legal repercussions.
  • Take this seriously. Fire can put the lives and property of many people at risk. The fields and grasses are extremely dry and flammable (look at the landscape when you arrive - this is what fire does here).
  • All fire-art must be registered. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • All fire performance must be conducted in the designated fire performance area ONLY.
  • No charcoal BBQs, tiki torches, candles, oil lanterns, fireworks, flares, or explosives will be permitted (propane stoves and barbecues are okay)
  • No personal campfires.
  • Do not smoke outside of designated areas. This is extremely important - we've had many close calls in the past, and it is a serious threat on this landscape to carelessly smoke. All smoking areas are located near the porta potties, and there are water extinguishers behind every station.

Alcohol

  • Please consider staying clear and sober for the festival.
  • If you are going to drink, please do so discreetly and conscientiously.
  • While alcohol is permitted, drunken behavior or any behavior that disrespects others is grounds for removal from the festival.
  • Underage drinking is not permitted. You will be removed from the event.
  • Bring your photo ID. Your ID will be checked at the gate and is required for admission.
  • Excessive quantities of alcohol will be confiscated at the gate.
  • Glass is not allowed. Please use plastic cups or cans, and leave no trace!

Generators

  • All generators must be sound insulated with mufflers or fireproof housing. See http://www.hot-pages.com/generetiquette/soundproofing.html (opens in new window) for design plans for an easy and effective generator enclosure.
  • All generators, fuel storage, and potential spark-sources must be placed in areas in which all dry vegetation has been removed.
  • If you would like info on renting or sharing a cheap, non-polluting bio diesel generator or bio-diesel fuel for your diesel generator please visit our bio-diesel page here.

Sound Restrictions

  • Please keep your neighbors in mind. Sound from any camp must not disrupt adjacent camps. Sound systems in your camp must be held to reasonable levels.
  • Sound systems are limited to certain areas of our event and must be registered in advance as a theme camp.
  • Sound systems may be monitored for excessive decibel levels and may need to be turned-down.
  • If sound problems continue after sufficient warning, the power source for your sound system may be disabled.
  • Quiet hours may be enforced in the late evening and morning. Look for signs at the event.

Local, State and Federal Laws

Comport yourself with regard to all local, state and federal laws as you would in any municipality. Law enforcement is not expected at the event, but please be respectful if you see any. They will return your respect. We wish our positive interactions with law enforcement to continue.
