KISSIDUGU

~WEST AFRICAN DRUM AND DANCE ENSEMBLE~
Kissidugu, a West African Percussion and Dance troupe, was established in late 2004 by Master Drummer and Dancer Fara Tolno from Guinea, West Africa. The mission of Kissidugu, an organization based in Boulder, is to spread the beauty of West African music, dance, drumming, culture, history, and language.

"Our troupe is a merging of cultures. Our members are of varied ancestry and backgrounds. Drawn by the strong pull of this powerful music and dance, we have all come together. We share a common goal. Under the direction of our teacher Fara Tolno we are learning, holding and sharing the rich musical tradition of Guinea, West Africa.
While performing, it is our intention to create “a safe place” for people of all cultures and ancestry to re-connect through this powerful music."

Set to a world-beat crafted mix, Arlyn will guide you on an experiential journey using breath, attention, movement and intention. There are no steps to learn. There are no rules for how it's supposed to look. The invitation is to say "YES" to ourselves and one another, fully, and let that guide our spontaneous expression.
